The Debug Engineer will bridge the gap between Engineering and Support with analytical skills, coordination, competent trouble-shooting ability and effective communication. The ideal candidate has worked with developers and support technicians ideally in a technical environment that required network troubleshooting.
Job Responsibilities
Responding to situations to isolate or fix problems in using systematic procedures and testing tools
Perform triage on engineering tickets and escalate to appropriate resources as needed
-Engaged in a constant state of "huddle" with our support teams to speedily debug challenging issues
Gather enough evidence to make issues consistently reproducible
Submit to engineering detailed bug reports
Light code debugging and training on key aspects of application infrastructure
Requires collaboration with multiple teams to troubleshoot technical issues
Proven aptitude to extract insights from data analysis and debugging tools
Ability to work smoothly under pressure, while managing multiple tasks
Provide consistent updates to tracking systems, actively following up with resources driving resolution
Collaborate with internal groups to troubleshoot issues
Participate in customer debug calls with support staff to assist in replicating reported issues
Liaison between all teams in all geo’s to sync and facilitate knowledge transfer of shared product issues
Identify trends in repetitive issues across the product
Update and maintain internal troubleshooting documents for commonly reported issues
Assist technical writers with content creation for product documentation
Minimum Qualifications
? 3 to 5+ yrs experience preferred in Application Support, Technical Support, or Product Support
? Minimum 2 years in a code debugging or technical support role
? Network protocol knowledge with a special emphasis on DNS, HTTP and HTTPS
? Read and comprehend Wireshark traces + the ability to correlate packet level activity with debug logs.
? Strong English written and verbal communication skills an ability to communicate clearly and effectively
? Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, and communication skills
? Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python
? Experience with databases (schema design, SQL queries, tables, views, etc)
? Familiarity with release planning and code deployment processes
? Ability to work in fast paced high pressure environments under tight deadlines
? Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams
? Prior experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or ZenDesk
