This is for a fixed term contract over 9 months.
As an Environmental Manager, you'll support the delivery of works. You will advise our teams on the legal, client and company requirements and procedures ensuring all the required environmental compliance obligations, objectives and targets are met.
Location: The ideal candidate will be based in the North as they will be covering areas such as Castleford, Wigan, Livingston, Stockton and Salford.
What you will be doing Providing strategic direction, management, and leadership on Environmental and Ecology matters, including licensing and consent, operational delivery, and audit.Leading the production and use of Environmental Management Plans and Risk Assessments.Overseeing the performance of the projects through management meetings, audits, site visits, and specific interventions as required.Championing environmental best practices, ensuring compliance with legislation, and fostering innovation.Acting as the focal point for all Environmental and Ecology aspects of the projects, building collaborative relations with external bodies.Providing bid support and contributing to the overall sustainability targets.Liaison with peers, clients, industry bodies and proposing innovation and best practice.What we need from you Be educated to degree level in a relevant subject (or equivalent), you will be a professional level member of IEMA or equivalent.Proven experience in Environmental/Ecology management within a similar construction environment.have experience of in working in environmental management environment, which will include assessing / identifying the environmental aspects and impacts associated with proposed works and being able to identify potential risks / issues on site and advise on appropriate control / mitigation measures.good knowledge and practical experience of maintaining, implementing and improving EMS's certified to BS EN ISO 14001Solid knowledge of legislation, statutory bodies, and licensing processes.Extensive experience in leading ang managing teams within construction environmentsExperience of working within multi-disciplined teamsSelects, develops and motivates people to work together in a committed way toward a common goal.Translates business goals into performance objectives and holds people accountable for agreed results.Advises and directs people in a clear, active way.Experienced in delivery of assorted Environmental training coursesComprehensive experience in a similar role essentialWhat we can offer you 26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 3 days holiday) pro rata Enhanced maternity, paternity and parental leaveFlexible and Agile working (dependent on your role)Employee Assistance Programme Professional membership feesPerks at Work Employee discount scheme offering discounts on a range of categories such as electronics, home appliances, food & groceries, car buying, travel, fitness and moreFlexible Benefits scheme which includes the opportunity to purchase benefits such as:Critical illness insurance (with option to purchase for your partner)Travel insuranceCycle to work schemeRetail vouchers/payroll giving/activity pass for top leisure attractionsWho we are Tilbury Douglas is a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company.
