Under the general direction of the Operations Officer Joint Management, the Senior Ranger mentors, trains and builds capacity of the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation Rangers and Trainee Rangers. In addition, the Senior Ranger is responsible for the works programming and day-to-day operations in Murujuga National Park and the Dampier Archipelago Nature Reserves including:
facilitating operational joint management with Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation, Board and Elders;preparing and implementing works plans and operational rosters;project work and day to day coordination of park maintenance requirements; andvisitor management and coordination of Indigenous Rangers, volunteers and external work crews.Application Instructions: To allow the selection panel to make an accurate assessment of your application, please submit the following:

Experience in leading, supervising and managing indigenous teams, empowering individuals to work with confidence, encouraging a strong teamwork culture, and supporting a two-way learning exchange of culturally specific information to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities within a harmonious work environment.
2. Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships and networks; liaising with the public, commercial tourism operators, community groups, special interest groups including Traditional Owners to build effective networks and promote community support and involvement of elders and corporations in projects.
3. Experience and knowledge of implementing operational plans and works programs associated with visitor management, natural resource management and cultural heritage management, having regard to the threatening processes affecting native flora and fauna, rehabilitation techniques and the monitoring and control of pests and weeds.
