About the Job:
We are a startup seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Manager to lead our team of developers in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Thunderbird platform and offerings. This role is critical to our mission of delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to our users. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the website's backend, primarily built on PHP, and ensuring seamless HubSpot integration on the frontend. With a hands-on approach, the Technical Manager will guide the team through complex technical challenges, ensuring code quality, and fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of developers in the design, development, and maintenance of the Thunderbird platform, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and performant solutionsOversee the website's backend development, focusing on PHP, and manage HubSpot connectivity on the frontendReview and approve code submissions on GitHub, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standardsWrite email templates to be automatically sent to clients in HubSpot workflowsProactively test application and spot bugs impacting performance of the projectsTake ownership of creating new designs and features with limited oversight, encouraging a culture of innovation within the teamCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, set priorities, and deliver comprehensive solutions that meet business goalsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practicesEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize application for maximum speed and scalabilityDevelop and maintain technical documentation related to project architecture, development processes, and coding standardsManage project timelines, resources, and risk assessments, ensuring timely delivery of projects within budgetFoster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team development, and providing mentorship to junior developers
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldEntrepreneurial Mindset (Previous experience as a Founder is a huge plus!)Proven experience as a Technical Manager or Lead Developer, with a strong background in PHP developmentFamiliarity with HubSpot integration with sending automated emails, building web applications, and managing the CMSKnowledge of Zapier to manage front-end workflowsStrong understanding of web development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structuresProficiency in code versioning tools, specifically GitHub, and experience in code review processesAbility to lead and inspire a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environmentExceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersA portfolio of successful projects that demonstrates the ability to manage complex web development projects from conception to deliveryAbility to solve technical problems after business hours if technical issues arise
