Api Developer / Senior Python Developer

We are seeking a Python Developer with experience in Django and interfacing REST, SOAP.

You will also have a background in data engineering from DevOps perspective.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

- Develop software for processing and analysing data

- Develop measurable predictive models for marketing and emails

- Support development and data science work of ROI framework

- Where applicable, support other data science projects and ad hoc requests relating to email marketing data and analysis

- Evidence continual data management and development best practices to include:

- Technology exploration and recommendations

- Infrastructure design/development

- Code standards and optimisation

- Maintain/extend data platform

- Build and extend data providers to feed data to algorithms

- Maintain database design/implementation to store the relevant data sets

- Technical and non-technical documentation of the work done

- Review and iterate models based on feedback

Essential:

- Extensive Python 3 expertise

- Experience in Django and Django Rest API architecture

- Experience in interfacing - REST, SOAP

- Background in data engineering from a DevOps perspective

- Experience of setting up open source data pipeline frameworks

- API design experience

- Good database knowledge (PostgreSQL)

- Good oauth2 knowledge

- Is comfortable in TDD and BDD environment.

- Is comfortable to write unit tests, integration tests

- Is comfortable with Git

- Elasticsearch

- Experience in Data Science

- Worked in DevOps culture and can automate deployment pipeline

Desirable:

- Experience of working in Government
