Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the incumbent will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks of IAIA facilities, vehicles and/or equipment, which includes essential physical components material to the position and tasks often performed outdoors.

THE APPRENTICE WILL BE TRAINED IN THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: Complete in an accurate and timely manner a wide range of assigned maintenance tasks, work-orders and/or a project on IAIA facilities and grounds, which include but are not limited to:Filter replacement and coil cleaning of HVAC unitsMinor carpentry, painting and drywall repairsMinor electrical work, change outlets, lights, ballasts, etcAssist with the assembly of furniture and fixtures.Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of IAIA vehicles.Complete assigned errands for the department, such as the purchase of supplies or delivery of items/materials.Responsible for assisting with snow removal and general upkeep of Campus grounds.Assist with meeting and conference set-ups.Complete other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Must have a high school diploma.
Must have a current and valid NM drivers' license.
Must have a clean driving record, in order to be bondable to drive an IAIA vehicle.
Must have an acceptable background check results.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES) Adhere to appropriate standards of conduct and ethics, including confidentiality, integrity and honesty.Ability to follow directions and to adapt to changing work environments.Work respectfully with others; participates in pro-active problem solving.Ability to work with minimum supervision, complete jobs as assigned in a timely manner.Practice safe and responsible work habits to ensure own and others safety.WORKING CONDITIONS: Tasks are performed in varied external climates, which may vary from extreme cold to hot weather.Tasks are also performed in interior environments which may contain dust, fumes and/or particles.Duties require the ability to reach, stoop, bend and/or crawl.Duties require the ability to move and/or maneuver items weighing up to 50lbs.Duties require the ability stand for extended periods of time.Duties require the ability to effectively and safely use a wide-range of maintenance tools.Duties require the ability to climb ladders to complete tasks, which may include climbing to the roofs of buildings.Ability to complete all the physical dimensions and demands of the position.
