The Associate position is an entry-level consulting staff position working in BRG’s International Arbitration practice. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of an Associate involves a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, and projects range from industry and subject-matter research to data collection to the preparation of economic, statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis. The Associate will have opportunities to work directly with international and domestic clients and BRG experts and staff to prepare reports and presentations involving complex valuation and economic issues including damages assessments, opinions on regulatory behavior and tariff-setting mechanisms, among other issues.

Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

Responsibilities
Perform detailed research and financial analysis and capture the results into either actionable analyses, memoranda or expert reports (types of research include, for example, summarizing literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public, and commercial databases).
Demonstrate creativity in developing solutions for complex analytical challenges while making an efficient use of relevant analytical methods and models to develop solutions.
Prioritize quality and intellectual honesty in his or her work.
Audit work product to assure quality while and working autonomously to complete time sensitive reports.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Participate in and contribute to group practice meetings and travel as needed.
Participate in and contribute to the overall development of the practice, including the development of proposals for clients, marketing presentations and other client-facing activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and an undergraduate level understanding of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, or other related subject.
0 - 2 years of prior work experience preferred.
Proven capability with MS Excel or statistical analysis. A desire to expand those capabilities is required.
Reading and writing fluency in English is required.
Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship.
