Job Role Summary 13;
The DevOps network engineer works with ExxonMobils infrastructure and digital network to develop, automate and orchestrate network systems and services for all of ExxonMobil. These data networks include data centers (DC), private and public clouds, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks. DevOps network engineers must have advanced skills to analyze where communications are going to be needed, create plans for the network, be up:to date on the latest networking, automation and virtualization technology, and understand and determine the system design needs for IT products and services.
Job Role Responsibilities 13;
Management of tools for monitoring, alerting, configuration management, automation and other relevant software applications
Develop scripts and applications in support of existing infrastructure automation initiatives
Support for all members of the network organization, including operations and engineering analysts and developers in the software development process and automation of network functions
Expected Level of Proficiency 13;
Experience in a Python, JavaScript, PERL, PowerShell, node or similar development environment required
Experience with presentation layer development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and popular SPA frameworks such as AngularJS
Experience with REST API development and consumption
Experience with other OOP programming languages is a plus
Good working knowledge of relational databases and SQL query language (Postgres, MS SQLServer)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Experience working with configuration management software such as Ansible (preferred), HP Network Automation (HPNA), or BMC Network Automation (BNA) is a plus
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Knowledge of the TCP/IP network stack (including UDP)
Knowledge of web:related protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
Work in close coordination with engineers and analyst stakeholders to translate requirements into technical design
A team player, experienced in working in intercultural and geographically dispersed teams
Actively contributes to the establishment and compliance of development processes
Produces high quality technical documentation
