Job Description Network Infrastructure Infrastructure Delivery Manager, Americas Overview:
We are looking for Infrastructure Delivery Manager to join the dynamic Networks team at Akamai. In this role, you will work closely with groups across Networks to devise technical solutions for business needs, negotiate deployment project requirements with internal stakeholders and create actionable plans around those requirements for deployment by Networks Infrastructure. You will be expected to monitor the availability of Akamais geo:specific bandwidth, data center, equipment and deployment resources against forecast requests to assemble achievable deployment commitments to our internal stakeholders.
As an Infrastructure Delivery Manager, you will:
: Capture high:level project technical requirements and business goals from internal stakeholders.
: Translate these high:level objectives (including decommissioning, retrofit and turn:up plans) into detailed
projects with tactically feasible execution plans.
: Negotiate with project requestors on more efficient ways to conduct deployments, including strongly
advocating for simplified requests
: Create deployment plans in our Oracle Siebel CRM tool following established standards and templates.
: Help identify resource requirements and deadlines based on stakeholder feedback.
: Facilitate communication among stakeholders and ensure that everyone involved on the project has a
common understanding around goals, objectives, and success criteria.
: Manage any requested changes to the established plan of record based on changing priorities and work
with groups to evaluate the capacity, cost and timing impacts.
: Review operational issues and determine if process and/or technology solutions are needed to rectify
issues.
: Identify, assess, track and mitigate areas of risk in the plan of record.

About The Team:
The Networks group at Akamai is responsible for the design, deployment and maintenance of the Akamai physical platform of servers, switches, DWDM and routers deployed in over 130 countries. This platform consists of over 250,000 servers in 1,500 networks and handles a significant portion of the worlds Internet traffic. Within the Networks team, the Infrastructure Delivery Management team serves a crucial role translating our build forecasts into actionable deployment plans across North and South America. The team strives to balance risk management along with our top forecast priorities into a plan of record that we continuously improve upon.
Job Qualification
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following education and experience requirements:
: 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in a technical or management discipline or its equivalent or;
: 5 years of relevant experience and a Masters degree a technical or management discipline.
: Relevant experience defined as holding a technical role in any of the following industries: CDN, internet security; datacenter services; or a Tier 1 ISP.
Required Skills:
: Knowledge of OSI Layers 1 through 3.
: Relevant experience working with servers, switches, routers and DWDM equipment, including their
operational deployment in data centers.
: Ability to conduct negotiations with internal stakeholders and reach mutually:beneficial outcomes.
