Position Purpose
Responsible a project management and technical supervision / execution activities to build projects (FULL*/MEDIUM/LOW RIGOR PROJECT, small turnkey projects, greenfield standard warehouses, ports installation, plants installation, etc) , including project leadership, project planning, project execution, project control, and business results. This position is normally specialized in some technical area like AEI, Mechanical, Process, Utilities, Civil etc. This position is also responsible to choose the suppliers as long as keeping a full communication with his supervisor. He is responsible for all safety performance for the project (including contractors).
Principal Accountabilities
Project Leadership- 20%
Leads periodic project technical reviews utilizing extensive knowledge of the project delivery process for Build projects (recognized by the construction industry).
Identifies, recommends and implements capital effectiveness best practices (front end loading, team alignment, target setting, project controls, constructability, planning for startup) based on extensive knowledge of Build project management.
Champions and reinforces Cargill’s behavioral based safety process and zero fatalities throughout every phase of Build projects.
Ensures Build projects are planned and executed in compliance with laws and regulations.
Works with and manage engineering firms across his specialization or a medium number of engineering disciplines.
Project Planning- 20%
Defines technical project objectives utilizing extensive knowledge of project management practices and procedures.
Leads development of the project scope based on extensive knowledge of Build project management practices, procedures and capital effectiveness best practices.
Develop an execution plan to build, monitor and control the project. Works with the Project Manager to develop the Integrated Project Plan.
Project Execution- 30%
Leads the execution of Build projects with medium complexity determined by the business unit.
Utilizes the project management framework to achieve technical project objectives of delivered safely, on time, on budget and operability results are realized for assigned projects.
Project Control- 20%
Regularly measures and monitors project progress to identify variances from the plan and make needed corrections to medium low rigor projects.
Contains and resolves technical issues within the Build project that do not require Project Sponsor or Project Manager Attention.
Accountable for providing to the Project Manager or Sr Build Project Manager a routine status of the Build project, actively communicating issues/threats/current status (safety, schedule, change orders, etc.),
Communicates key program milestones and regular status updates
Business Results- 10%
Works with BPM to ensure project is successfully implemented and technical benefits and value are captured for low to medium complexity build projects.
Accountable for achieving strategic and tactical metrics from internal and external benchmarking; indices may include Safety Fatalities, Operability Index, Cost Index, Schedule Index, etc
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
5 years’ experience in projects and or supervision, reverently in the agribusiness industry.
Ability to influence multifunctional teams
Ability to leverage Cargill's technical subject matter experts, to design and build a project that is the Best (safer, cost effective, faster, operable & maintainable)
Ability to follow project controls best practices to improve effectiveness of the project's cost and schedule
Ability to leverage and apply technical best practices
Knowledge and experience in managing the work of third party engineering and related consulting companies, integrating activities with Cargill functions in alignment with project requirements
High self-initiative, setting own goals and execution
Demonstrated high levels of organization, written and verbal
