ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of small to large-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. May contribute to the overall design of the service. May define the technical criteria for product/component selection. Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches. Provide expert technical knowledge in the systems testing of platform specific versions of the software products, on varying platforms. Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s). Effectively estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference Leads Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives; consults and shares knowledge across org; full awareness of industry trends Oversees work of SAP Basis contracted resources as well as junior team members.

Bachelor's degree
Experience:
7-10+ years of Professional experience within a basis function
Expert understanding of SAP technical components for both ABAP and Java based SAP solutions is required.
Experience working within ITS Projects and/or Programs. Must have direct hands-on experience with major and minor upgrades/installations.
Expert understanding of database management systems, including HANA, Oracle, MaxDB and SQL Server.
Keen understanding of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system and Linux.
Strong leadership in managing high priority incidents with good end-to-end root cause analysis, driving to operational excellence opportunities as needed.
Cultivates networking opportunities within the organization
Experience working with different cultures, remote locations and multiple time zones
Excellent command of the English language, including reading, writing, and spoken conversation.
SAP functional knowledge is a preferred asset. As well as experience within other areas of Information Technology (network and/or security).

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
Role will report to a Manager in the IT Application Solutions organization. Role will not have any direct reports. Will provide functional leadership to junior team members. Coordinate work and activities (including system maintenance) within the team and with key stake holders.
