SUMMARY: The Foreman is responsible for overseeing the overall implementation and completion of hardscape and landscape projects for residential and commercial customers, as well as managing some aspects of customer relationships and production crew.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees the production work for general landscaping including tree and shrub installation, lawn installation, paver patios, retaining walls etc.

• Operates a variety of hardscape and landscape equipment including but not limited to, mowers, Bobcats, Dingos, Trenchers, concrete buggies, concrete saws, chainsaws and other equipment require to complete the work order.

• Delegates work to the production crew on a daily basis.

• Provides training to new hires and other skills needed to complete landscape and hardscape jobs.

• Inspects the quality of work to ensure that work orders are completed to specification.

• Makes sure that tools and materials are available to safely and efficiently complete the assigned project; notify office staff if equipment is not able to be repaired by Foreman.

• Works directly with the Owner or Office Manager to ensure that the scope of work is clear, material has been ordered per job specifications, and order discrepancies have been resolved.

• Notifies the owner or Office Manager of any employee issues and/or customer complaints, or if the scope of work changes per the customer’s request.

• Tracks and reviews timesheets and purchase receipts for the production crew; submits paperwork to the Office Manager by the end of each business day.

• Ensures that all end of day duties is completed including but not limited to equipment clean up and proper storage, company trucks are cleaned out and all equipment is ready for the following day.

• Manages Landscaping Software (LMN) including, estimating, timesheets, work orders, production times, change orders, notes photos etc. efficiently.

• Ability to properly identify up to 25+ trees/shrubs

• Wears correct uniform and ensures crew is wearing appropriate and designated uniform.

• Follows all PPP rules and guidelines and ensures that crew is following all necessary PPP rules and guidelines.

• Follows all company policies and procedures and ensures that cure is following all company policies and procedures.

• Charges tablet for the next day’s jobs.

• Performs all other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required; 2-3 years of experience working in a construction, landscape or hardscape environment preferred; 1-2 years of project management experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Language Skills – Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.

• Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills including but not limited to, electronic mail, record keeping, and GPS systems.

• Other Skills – Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and be insurable by a state licensed insurance carrier. Ability to drive a manual stick shift vehicle is preferred.

• Care and Use of Equipment – Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a variety of mechanical equipment including hand and power tools. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, tools and equipment required for installation and maintenance of domestic, reclaimed, and agricultural water pumps, and operation and maintenance of booster pumping stations and domestic, reclaimed, and agricultural water wells.

• Safety – The employee is safety conscious about the work environment and equipment. Ensures that the production crew follows all safety regulations and requirements. The work area is free of debris to prevent trip and slip hazards. All products and equipment are stored in its proper location. All safety guards and other safety devices are in its proper location, are functional, and utilized effectively on a consistent basis. Standard operating procedures, safety work rules and good general manufacturing practices are followed on a daily basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is constantly moving about at the jobsite location to perform hardscape and landscape work for residential customers. For landscape work, the individual frequently positions self to cut grass, prune bushes, edge lawns and remove weeds by bending, reaching overhead and near the ground. They are constantly using hand and power tools to complete the work order. For hardscape projects, the individual will operate Bobcats, Dingos, Trenchers, concrete buggies, concrete saws, chainsaws and other equipment to build paver patios, retaining walls, concrete work and cultured stone. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other employees and customers throughout the service process. Must be able to detect mechanical issues from short distances to determine what action needs to be taken. The employee must regularly push, pull, and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is constantly exposed to outside weather conditions. They are occasionally exposed to vibration. The individual performing this job is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. They are also exposed to dust, dirt and grease conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate on various job and construction sites. Due to exposure of machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
