SUMMARY: Landscape or maintain grounds of customer and/or client property during all seasons of the year using hand or power tools or other equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes to care for customer/client grounds.
• Operates power equipment such as but not limited to mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
• Mows and edges lawns using power mowers and edger’s.
• Occasionally prunes and trims shrubs and hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
• Uses snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATV’s, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades and other manually operated equipment to preform snow removal.
• Applies effective use and technique of equipment to ensure quality management and a professional appearance.
• Ability to identify up to 15 trees/shrubs correctly.
• Calculates material quantity such as mulch, topsoil, soil etc. accurately.
• Drives truck and trailer in a safe manner abiding by all traffic laws and regulations.
• Uses LMN (landscape software) when necessary.
• Maintains a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site at the end of each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Wears provided uniform and PPP when necessary.
• Follows all safety and OSHA regulations.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate). 1-year landscape experience
• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply basic math concepts to daily job duties.
• Other Qualifications - Valid driver’s license is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is constantly moving about at the jobsite location to perform lawn maintenance. The individual frequently positions self to cut grass, prune bushes, edge lawns and remove weeds by bending, reaching overhead and near the ground. They are constantly using hand and power tools to complete the work order. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other employees and customers throughout the service process. Must be able to detect mechanical issues from short distances to determine what action needs to be taken. The individual frequently positions self to remove large amounts of snow by driving a vehicle. Employee will at times be working longer than normal shifts which may cause exhaustion. The use of snow shovels may put strain on the individuals’ wrists. The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is constantly exposed to outside weather conditions. They are occasionally exposed to vibration. The individual performing this job is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. They are also exposed to dust, dirt and grease conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
PPE: Due to exposure of machinery employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
