Lead Automation Test Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE/SUMMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improving and building upon the existing QA strategy with direction from the QA Manager including risk-based regression testing and creating repeatable test planning and execution processes.
- Mentoring and developing talent.
- Writing and executing test scenarios to detect faults within software and related documentation.
- Evaluate test results and accurately record defects.
- Be involved in the sprint planning to understand the user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Work within agile sprint teams to conduct component and system level testing.
- Support developers to design testable software.
- Ensure quality standards and procedures are always followed.
- Produce clear and concise testing documentation.
- Report defect trends and status to management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent experience/accreditations.
- Previous coursework or experience in software development, quality assurance or related fields.
- Experience in planning and execution of a large-scale system test.
- Utility industry knowledge is preferred.
- Fluent communication skills in English, written and verbal, is required. TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Rest and Non-Restful API testing experience.
- A strong knowledge of QA methodologies (Smoke, Functional, Integration, Regression, Black box, White box, Load testing).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Ability to motivate and mentor others and develop talent.
- Ability to lead, plan, execute and delegate such as to drive projects to on-time completion.
