Mechanical Design Engineer

A new Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity has arisen within the automation and robotics industry in our client's busy engineering office.

The position will involve all aspects of mechanical design, including production of initial design concepts, Solidworks component and assembly CAD models, detail manufactoring and asembly drawings, BOM's and other associated project related documentation.

Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Design Engineer with good knowledge of robotics/automation/special purpose machinery.

The role of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include, but not be limited to:

- Being responsible for the generation of prototype models of the new designs and products.

- The primary role of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be to evolve current product designs to match the immediate specific needs of customers.

- Generate 3D models from existing hand drawings and 2D AutoCAD designs.

- Being responsible for designing enhancements to the current product range.

- Creating and managing BOMs.

The suitable candidate for the Mechanical Design Engineer will need to possess the following qualifies and skills:

- At least 3+ years Mechanical Design Engineering experience in the robotics/automation/special purpose machinery industry.

- Solidworks 3D CAD software experience.

- Possesses the ability to work on own initiative and have an aptitude for practical and innovative design, but with exceptional attention to detail.

- Is an experienced Engineer qualified to HNC/D level or degree level.
