The Oncology Medical Affairs Manager is part of the MSD Oncology Customer Business Line (CBL) in Argentina. It is a key strategic leadership role requiring therapeutic area expertise to identify and address the relevant medical needs of clinical practice. This position has a significant impact on our ability to effectively translate medical science into relevant business opportunities with high standards of local regulatory and compliance requirements. The role requires the ability to interact with a sort of different internal and external stakeholders like key scientific leaders, marketing and sales peers, decision makers, payers as well as regulatory authorities in order to effectively address technical issues for MSD products and therapeutic areas of interest. It also requires extraordinary leadership and empathy to successfully thrive a high performance team. The Oncology Medical Manager needs to be versatile in different pathology areas as to be able to cover different indications for MSD oncology products. Also, the Medical Affairs Manager acts as a guardian for high standards of compliance, ethics, and safety of MSD products, putting patients at the center of his/her actions. Expertise in people management is not a must but is welcome.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Scientific Leadership:
oMain focus but not limited to Gastric Cancer's
oResponsible for scientific knowledge management, translating information into strategic advice on oncology for MSD products / competitors;
oInteraction with Scientific Leaders (SL) providing support to business units;
oOrganize and conduct local advisory boards and Expert Input Forum meetings and collect customer needs from SLs;
oAttend stand alone and satellite scientific events.
oProvides medical information requests/answers to questions from local customers.
oManage agendas of MSD scientific events including sponsorships to local scientific leaders.
-MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS
oThe Oncology Medical Affairs Manager will be responsible for assisting in dotted line our Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) team
oAligns people and projects to achieve initiatives.
oAssures MSLs are trained and knowledgeable on specific oncology areas and scientific information
oValues cultural diversity and other individual differences in the workforce, ensuring that the organization builds on these differences.
oAssures high ethical standards and complete adherence of MSD Value and standards.
-Internal Support:
Support to products teams, providing scientific support to achieve strategic/performance objectives;
oSupport to inclusion of our products in hospital formularies and in local therapeutic guidelines;
oParticipate in strategic defense of MSD products with key decisions makers;
oAdvise to legal and regulatory departments on the inquiries concerning MSD products;
oProvide sales representatives technical training.

oReview of all materials of his/her therapeutic areas ensuring medical relevance and compliance with regulations, all in accordance with internal guidelines;
