- Network Engineer
We are seeking a Network Engineer who is intelligent and highly motivated to work as part of the internal Information Technology team at Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for supporting the Network, Connectivity and related Systems in order to provide a stable and reliable IT environment ensuring maximum availability.
The ideal candidate will be service-oriented, proactive, have excellent communication skills as well as a proven professional attitude to ensure the greatest efficiency and proper functioning of the organization's information systems as well as work with senior IT staff to deliver exceptional back-office IT services.
Main Activities
Collaborating with members of the IT team to provide management and support for firewalling, switching, routing, links and infrastructure related to the area.
Interact with the members of the IT team that are located in Georgia (USA) and California (USA).
Support and deploy appliances and server hardware and software, etc.
Responsible for keeping networking devices and software updated.
Apply and maintain the configuration, installation and security standards for the corporate network and connections.
Be the point of contact for providers, ISPs, datacenters and vendors.
Supervise and attend warnings and alerts sent by the NOC (Network Operation Center).
Resolve tickets related to the networking area.
Keep the area’s documentation and layouts up-to-date.
Researches new technologies and presents recommendations to IT management.
Some weekend / after-hours support required.
Availability for occasional travelling to USA may be required.
Required skills and knowledge
Advanced student or degree in Information Technology or Engineering
4 or more years of networking experience in a fast paced environment.
Advanced English skills (spoken and written)
Advanced knowledge in Cisco networking technologies (management and devices)
Advanced knowledge in the following technologies: multilayer switching, firewalling (Cisco FTD and Cisco ASA), routing, WiFi, etc.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, AAA, 2FA, NAC, IPSEC, VPN site-to-site and remote access, ports management and filtering, VLAN, VoIP, NAT, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, NPS, NAC, etc.
Advanced knowledge of HTTP, NNTP, SMTP, IPSec, SIP, SMB, SSH, DNS, SSL, POP3, IMAP, IPv4, IPv6
Strong knowledge of software like Cisco WLC, Wireshark, Nessus, Ansible, etc.
Strong knowledge of operating system management (Windows and Linux)
Ability to document all facets of works completed.
Excellent problem identification and resolution skills, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Desired skills and knowledge
Cisco CCNA, CCNP or CISP Certification
Management of Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco ISE
Management of systems like Solarwinds, Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti
Management Unix, FreeBSD or OpenBSD operating systems
Knowledge about proactive security solutions (IDP, IDS)
