What you’ll do
The Security Advisor/Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day global security reviews and oversight. In this role you will be responsible for developing and driving adoption of best practices around different security products with a focus of cloud technologies. The role will require design reviews, security validations, comprehending complex cloud deployments and familiarity with security and cloud based standards such as NIST and CIS.
This role ensures the project team are provided guidance for securing servers, workstations, firewalls, and other computing infrastructure along with application security to our client's standards and ensures corporate, compliance security best practices are being implemented and monitored.
Key responsibilities of this role
-Maintaining expert knowledge of cloud security principles.
-Advanced knowledge of public key cryptography is critical for success in this role (Tokenization, Encryption, decryption, authentication).
-Understanding of security weaknesses within core cloud components including file transfer, applications, storage, cloud technologies, databases, etc.
-Understanding of security problems as a mix of technology and process issues with the ability to pursue solutions at all layers within the organization
-Defining, gathering, and reporting on metrics regarding the delivery of security monitoring and security assessment services
-Transforming traditional data center security controls into industry adopted cloud technologies like Google Cloud Provider (GCP) Amazon Web Services (AWS), or SaaS technologies like Saleforce.
-Maintaining expert knowledge of network and security protocols and principles
-Identifying, assessing and recommending remediation steps for security events from system, printers, MFA logs, SyslogNG, and QRadar
-Participating in security incident response through in-depth, technical analysis
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other similar technical degree program
-Years of experience required
-5+ years of previous technical experience with security networking and/or software development
-Required technical skills (the must have)
-Expert knowledge regarding security incident response best practices
-Pragmatic outlook that understands security problems as a balance of both security and business requirements
-Experience with multiple cloud providers
-Previous experience or advanced knowledge in monitoring and managing the detection and protection of network and host-based intrusion, data loss and malware
-Ability to multi-task, organizing and prioritizing as needed to accomplish goals
-Proven ability to manage changes, including assessing and reacting with good enough but imperfect or incomplete information
-Passionate to learn new technologies, best practices and contribute to the broader global infrastructure and security teams
-Intermediate english proficiency

CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional) CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification or cloud certifications is prefered.
