Job summary
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Applications Development Consultant to join our team in Santiago, Chile. In this role, you will be the key Red Hats representative at customer sites, leading the on:site delivery and implementation of our offerings and services. Working as part of the Consulting team, youll use your technical and communication skills to facilitate a successful delivery of projects, including providing reference architectures, proofs of concepts, benchmarks, training sessions, designs, automation programs or scripts, performance enhancements, documentation, and product patches. Youll need to have an understanding of middleware and open source solutions, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Our training programs will keep you up to date on Red Hats evolving technologies and allow you to advance your technical leadership.
Primary job responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact at customer sites for Red Hats professional services, addressing technical, development, and strategic IT requirements of our customers
Work on problems and job tasks of diverse scope, including problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware and software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
Serve as an experienced professional skilled in industry practices and Red Hats policies and procedures
Demonstrate considerable judgement in selecting methods and techniques when solving problems
Required skills
5+ years of experience designing and implementing Java and JEE solutions
In:depth experience in at least one of the major middleware solutions; JBoss is preferred but experience with Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, webMethods, etc. will also be considered
Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse technical and business audiences
Ability to constantly learn new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs
Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English
