What would some of your responsibilities include?
Responsibilities
Provides customer-site installation, servicing, training, troubleshooting, and upgrades for customers. As a Service
Engineer you are responsible for the coordination and management of the system implementation stage within a project.
Is accountable for developing technical competence, understanding of Invensys' products and their applications, and professional (customer-facing) capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs installation, startup and commissioning of Invensys products.
May perform preventive and remedial maintenance on instruments and/or systems.
Troubleshoots hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and determines the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime.
Prepares site reports detailing product failure trends and service reliability issues.
Develops routine upgrade plans and may lead upgrade projects.
Discusses instrument and system maintenance agreement details with customers to ensure understanding.
Consults with the customer and provides solutions for service or productivity issues
Provides on-demand, baseline level customer training, as needed
Identifies "out of scope" situations that require re-contracting or additional resources to meet customer needs, deliverables, and deadlines and works with the Project Manager or Service leader to address them
Attends site surveys and provides reports to Sales that enable accurate service or project quotes.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent educational background) and should ideally have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Service Engineer within the automation industry and/or EPC (although not essential).
Therefore, a good knowledge of application of software structure and hardware specification is essential.
As further qualifications we expect good written and spoken English as well as a team and customer oriented personality.
