WHAT WEVE GOT GOING ON
Looker is seeking a seasoned Architect to support our rapidly growing business. The ideal candidate will take an active role in contributing to our long:term technical roadmap and have a proven track record of building core platforms and shared libraries that are highly:extensible, durable, and performant.
Youll build technology to help our users find, discover, and organize content thats important and relevant to their work. This includes surfacing the most relevant content in the system driving the understandability of our tool; thereby improving our user engagement and user retention, for both new and existing users. Youll also have a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative systems to empower administrators of Looker deployments to better engage with their users.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Build scalable systems for partitioning, storing, and indexing relevant content
Define and shape the future of the administrators experience using Looker
Partner with key stakeholders across the organization, including: Product, Design, Operations, Support, Security, Sales Ops, and Marketing teams
Prior experience with content management and/or search technology is a plus
WHAT YOU BRING TO LOOKER
A strong engineering background, founded in preferred fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, and Software Engineering
Experience with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, modern front:end frameworks, and other common tools and technologies to get the job done
An acute understanding of what constitutes a world:class user experience
The keen ability to balance ongoing feature development while building an architectural foundation for the future
A clear point of view for how DOM/CSS should exist between mobile and desktop applications
Familiarity with the whole web stack, including network protocols
A deep understanding of what it takes to scale at the Enterprise level in the cloud
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Headless Chrome, etc
