Key Responsibilities
This role sits within our User Data team. Our focus is perfecting our big data capabilities to provide on:demand real:time data capabilities for our clients. This team uses best in class technology to develop low:latency, high:volume, secure, reliable, and scalable services using a variety of cutting:edge software platforms. As a Software Sngineer, you will architect and own one or more of the teams core big data services utilized by other MediaMath engineering departments and clients directly.
We are looking for a talented Java services engineer to help us build the next iteration of our segment storage platform. We are seeking engineers passionate about crafting high quality web services that leverage AWS to build stable, transparent data pipelines.
You will:
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications
Perform code reviews and give feedback for development work and design by members of the team
Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
Develop and maintain thorough understanding of products and infrastructure; become subject matter expert
Contribute to resource planning and continual process improvements
Mentor your peer software engineers
Ensure that applications/services adhere to quality, security, and resiliency standards, raising the bar when possible
You have:
BS/MS/PhD in computer science, or another STEM field paired with strong computer science fundamentals
5+ years of experience in software engineering, or demonstrated equivalent experience and knowledge
Experience with building highly maintainable microservices in the cloud, especially using AWS services
Experience working with JVM languages and technologies such as Java (Spring Boot knowledge a large plus) or Scala
Familiarity with BDD testing frameworks and practices
Ability to scale, troubleshoot, and fix applications/services
