We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Merchant Experience department.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and implementing architecture systems that support our current and future Java applications.
Working closely with the development team, your primary focus will be to ensure that the solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with client requirements.
To excel in this position, you should possess extensive knowledge of software and architecture design patterns, along with advanced Java programming skills.
By leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our technology stack and play a vital role in shaping the future of our department.
Your ability to think strategically and comprehend the larger picture will be key to your success in this dynamic and challenging role.

What will I be doing?

Collaborate with technology leaders and the product team to understand department goals and requirements, translating them into technical solutionsDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and systems aligned with business objectivesLead the technical architecture and design of Java-based projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainabilityCreate scalable architecture systems for Java-based applications, considering future growth and evolving business needsOptimize application performance by identifying and addressing areas for improvement, such as code optimization, database query optimization, and resource utilizationTroubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks to enhance application stability and performancePerform validation tests to ensure the flexibility and scalability of the Java environment, making necessary adjustments as neededConduct comprehensive system performance tests to identify bottlenecks, assess system capacity, and fine-tune application performanceGenerate and present detailed systems reports, including performance metrics, bottlenecks, and recommendations for improvementsConduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards of software development, ensuring code quality, readability, and adherence to best practicesWhat skills do I need?

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer scienceMinimum of 8 years of professional experience in Java developmentSolid experience in Java application development and/or software architectureIn-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patternsAbility to write clean, efficient, and readable codeExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP (desired)Experience with Java development frameworks like Spring and HibernateEvent-driven architecture design experienceHigh-level project management skillsAbility to solve complex software system issuesGood verbal and written communication skillsBeing a team player, enjoying working with your own team and collaborating with other teams in the organizationUpper-intermediate written and spoken English proficiencyWell-versed in the software development life cycleExperience with monitoring applications in production using telemetry tooling such as Newrelic, Datadog, Grafana + Prometheus, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, distributed logs like ELK, etcWhat do we offer?
