What will you do at Ciena?
Create the Engineering Documentation Package (EDP), perform advanced hardware and functional testing/integration of Ciena products and support successful job completion with high quality while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Provide on:site and remote technical expertise to integrate Ciena's optical products.

Interact with customers to flexibly build the required solution
General Activities
Interfaces with customer to ensure understanding of customer's requirements (Site Surveys/CIQs/Test Protocols). Act as Cienas representative at the customer site.
Remote and on:site integration in Cala region.
Ensure that Quality and Safety Guidelines are followed and executed at all times.
Create Eng documentation package: Power consumption evaluation and PDU dimensioning, Signal Flow Diagram, Rack Front View, Commissioning and Provisioning, System acceptant test protocol.
Collaborate to generate the internal metric reports (Actual Start/End dates and inform any deviation from planning dates).
Provide feedback and milestone information to the Operation Manager (OM).
Adherence to Job Plan to enable successful completion of the project within budget requirements and completion of Job Closing activities on schedule.
Performs advanced hardware testing and functional testing on product elements of one product type.
Troubleshoots equipment and test failures to ensure proper operation of the system, following defined escalation procedures.
Receives direction and may provide guidance to others.
Coordinate the activities of peers or act as group leader in well:defined areas.
Collaboration with stakeholders
Peer Network Eng, Contractors, Customers, various Support Groups, and Management. Must manage the activities of sub:contractors/Non Payroll Workers at the job site.

Experience
Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, computer engineering, computer science or engineering technology
More than 3 years' experience working with DWDM, OTN, SDH, Carrier Ethernet networks.
Must have valid Driver's License
Ability to interpret Technical Documentation.
Ability to use sophisticated test equipment (OTDR, OSA, Bert, Videoscopes, fiber splicing)
Maintains and enhances self:esteem of others while giving direction
Ability to speak fluent English and Spanish. Portuguese bases will be also appreciated.
