Mission
We are looking for a System Administrator seeks to ensure that upgrade, uptime, performance, resources, and security of the Engineering services and applications meet the needs of the users.
Day:to:day, you will:
Management, maintenance and support of Windows servers environment
Management and maintenance of VMware virtualization environment
Management and maintenance of backup infrastructure
Hands:on hardware deployment in datacenters and offices
Manage provisioning of accounts and access for various network and business systems, including adds, changes and deletions.
Provide timely responses to requests via our ticketing system, phone, e:mail or in person with consistent updates to tickets.
Use appropriate knowledge bases to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
Administers technical support for hardware maintenance; repairs or replaces defective hardware on clients, as necessary; expedites repairs with outside services.
Some weekend / after:hours support maybe be required.
Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
Ideally, you have:
Experience managing Windows servers, VMware virtualization and backup technologies
Designed systems after thoughtful evaluation and consideration of technologies
Knowledge of standard methodologies and operations in an always:up, always:available, self:healing service
A working understanding of how security fits into the organization
A flexible, can:do attitude with a willingness and aptitude for learning
Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, Active Directory and network concepts and troubleshooting.
Ability to document all facets of works completed.
Excellent problem identification and resolution skills
Practical knowledge of virtualization, backup and disaster recovery methods and products.
