WHAT WE'VE GOT GOING ON
Looker is seeking a Technical Account Manager as the primary technical contact for our most strategic customer accounts. You will build relationships with each customer to ensure yearly subscription renewals. As a strategic partner, you will help the account team build a strategy to increase adoption and expansion while ultimately increasing the success of the customer’s use of Looker.
You will learn and articulate the breadth of the capabilities of our product and modeling language (LookML), and demonstrate how Looker provides value to the customer. You will hold discussions with customer leadership regarding status of their initiatives, risk management, resolutions for any technical issues they may be experiencing.
As a trusted advisor to our customers, the TAM will continually review customer use of Looker, data architecture and adoption, highlighting recommendations for improvements to the entire BI initiative. You will work to ensure satisfaction with the Looker product by anticipating needs and understanding overall vision of our customers, becoming a critical participant in our customers’ ultimate success.
As a member of the Professional Services team, you will be accountable for monthly, quarterly and yearly deliverables to your customers.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Manage a portfolio of 3-6 customers in parallel in a TAM capacity while also engaging in project-specific activities as needed.
Serve as a key member to the account team by assisting Sales and Customer Success teams in navigating the account, strengthening relationships and looking for expansion opportunities
Foster strategic interest and trust from senior executives at your accounts to support analytical maturation across their organization
Provide technical problem resolution and communication for all Looker issues that may arise. Assist with customer upgrades and adoption
Provide demonstrations and implementation strategies for integrating new features and releases
Interface with product and engineering teams regarding customer feedback to shape our product roadmap
Provide guidance on optimizing data environments to work most effectively and efficiently with Looker. This may include advising on database performance, altering the ETL process, providing SQL transformations, discussing API integration, and rethinking their approach to certain KPIs
WHAT YOU BRING TO LOOKER
5+ years of experience in strategic or technical account management or in software implementation services, preferably in the Data Analytics space
Demonstrated self-directed ability to manage simultaneous, complex engagements with minimal supervision
Experience presenting strategic business proposals to senior executives or boards of directors
Authorship of thought leadership white papers or blog posts in your areas of expertise
Proficiency in SQL, preferably across a number of dialects (Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.). Big data (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) a plus
Experience working with cloud infrastructure as a service providers (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
Understanding of Web architecture and application design. Troubleshooting Linux systems, load balancers, caching, message queues, logging, etc
Ability to travel up to 50%
