Description Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.
GTI Core Server Support (CSS) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase's (JPMC) Global Technology Infrastructure. Through its Global Service Desk and Infrastructure Operations Centers, SO provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while it’s Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts.
This role is for a senior UNIX administrator within CSS GSO Service Improvement.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Analyze infrastructure configuration breaks. Identify opportunities to improve the service, procedures.
Reviewing GSO CSS System Admin current working practices. Drive continues improvement initiatives to improve infrastructure resilience, security and cost.
Manage Service Improvement program with other GTI Teams, LOB partners to completion Job Requirements:
7+ years’ experience supporting AIX POWER (6.x, 7.x) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers (5.x, 6.x, 7.x) in a large enterprise environment. Solaris skill is desirable.
System partitioning and virtualization utilizing IBM AIX POWER LPAR/DLPAR technology and Virtual IO Server/Micropartioning (pSeries), as well as Red Hat Linux VM (HP servers).
AIX LVM, Linux LVM & Veritas Volume Manager experience is must.
7+ years’ experience supporting highly reliable/recoverable UNIX-based solutions that address specific business needs and requirements.
Thorough understanding of storage related technologies from a server perspective; working with SAN, NAS, external/remote storage media, etc.
Storage networking utilization - e.g. installing HBAs & drivers, configuring LUNs and volume managers (LVM on AIX or Red Hat Linux).
Experience with clustering, load balancing and high availability solutions (HACMP, GPFS, VCS) etc.
Implementation experience and familiarity with UNIX security models and Role-Based-Security Access.
Good understanding of core networking concepts such as routing, protocols, subnets, DNS
Proficiency in Python, PERL, Shell Scripting.
Experience managing small project, familiar with Microsoft projects.
Preferred Skills:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, AD partners, senior management, and customers
Strong documentation skills with experience designing system design diagrams, application flow diagrams, and other related technical documentation.
Leadership abilities: ability to drive discussions with client, technical teams.
Self-Motivated. Ability to work independently
Ability to multitask across multiple projects.
Experience managing escalations and providing management updates.
