We are looking for a Director, Engineering to lead the Azul Intelligence Cloud engineering organization.
This SaaS platform providesactionable intelligence from production Java applications by securely connecting to millions of JVM runtimes, managing and analyzing the data, extracting and reporting the insights to Security Engineers and Java Application developers.
In this role you will report directly to the SVP of Software Engineering and work closely with your stakeholders and your peers to support and grow our world-class software engineering organization.
What You'll Do (aka Responsibilities)Lead the Engineering teams that build services to process, analyze and secure customer data as well as combine them with 3rd party data to deliver the insights.Partner with stakeholder across the organization to create, communicate and execute on your vision and product roadmap.Setup processes within your organization and align with industry best practices to ensure the security of our customers' data, smoothness and scalability of our agile delivery process.Work across the organization to optimize the efficiency of Azul applications while reducing its overall cost of operations.Coach your managers and mentor your senior staff, be a role model for your peers.What You'll Bring (aka Experience, Skills Education)7+ years of experience in SaaS Engineering, Data Processing.3+ years of management experience. Good understanding of RDBMS is a plus.Demonstrated experience recruiting, leading and developing a high performance organization of 20+ engineers in a rapidly growing setting.BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field or equivalent experience.Is an engineer at heart - highly technical, with solid skills in algorithms, design and architecture. Knowledge of Java is a plus.Radiates strong leadership and facilitates a positive, engaging work environment where everyone can be creative, collaborative, efficient, supported and having fun.Is strongly data-driven and is fluent in making data-based decisions.Understands how to build and service a reliable and resilient data SaaS solution (splitting into services, data layers, data backfills, self-recovery, etc.) and demonstrates ability to solve for architectural trade-offs and make technology choices.Experienced with modern scaling cloud solutions and large data processing technologies.Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executive leadership.Has a product mindset – is fully focused bringing the most value to customers, knows how to evaluate success and setup a product feedback loop.Hates complexity and is passionate about simplicity and efficiency.Assumes responsibility for cost efficiency of our solution - FinOps.Demonstrated rapid growth in career development and has ambition to grow further.What we Offer ·Comprehensive compensation and healthcare packages
