Description
We're seeking a highly experienced Korean Bar Attorney with a minimum of 5 years' background in law firms or global corporations as a Legal Manager(F5).
To act and perform daily tasks as the Company's legal counsel reporting to General Counsel. To provide legal advice to the business units and management of the Company in the course of their daily operation (incl. contract review, legal documentations etc.) and projects. To support court litigations and government investigations, incl. strategy development, steering and managing outside counsels etc. To support the Company's efficient and proactive legal risk management, incl. planning and conducting employee trainings or company-wide projects. To support the Company's corporate secretarial works such as preparing and updating the Company's charter documents, renewal of registration of directors/statutory auditor etc. To implement HQ's global or regional initiatives. To provide legal advice, consultation and training to all departments in connection with their daily business operation and various corporate projects. In the process, to screen and manage efficiently the need for outside legal counsel retention, and in case of retention, to control the quality & fees of external legal counsel's services. To review or support the contracts or any other legal documents to be executed by the Company in respect of the Company's products and business operations. Sustained success in defending the Company in government investigations at optimum legal costs and handle information requests of the Company, develop defense strategies, steer and manage outside counsels for best performance, communicate with relevant stakeholders at Mercedes-Benz etc. Sustained success in defending court litigations at optimum legal costs and prepare and file the briefs and memorandums with the Courts in connection with the legal actions filed against or by the Company. Proactive management of legal risks of the Company by conducting employee trainings or corporate governance project to ensure compliance etc. To support p rotection of tangible & in-tangible rights and assets of the Company. To support preparation and filing of legally required documents for Board of Directors Meeting and Shareholders Meetings such as meeting notices (or waivers) and minutes (except for the presentation slides and meeting minutes of the physical meetings), and to prepare and file the documents with Korean Court' Commercial Registry Office for due registration of new appointment, renewal, terminated directors/statutory auditor. To support and ensure implementation of global legal projects/policies of Mercedes-Benz AG, including mandatory self-assessments (e.g Anti-Bribery clause enforcement in contracts, Anti-Trust Compliance Program etc.) and communication with the local management and L/AP on relevant topics, including major risk report. Actively participate and strengthen the regional and global legal network and contribute to the improvement and development of the department and all legal processes by active involvement in sharing best practices and experiences amongst the regional and global colleagues, analyze and standardize Legal Processes and use IT for leaner and more efficient processes. Qualifications Education
Korean Law School; Admission to Korean Bar
Thorough knowledge of corporate and business laws, civil laws, competition laws, privacy data protection laws, rules and procedures in various form, and a good understanding of Anti-Bribery regulations such as the FCPA and other integrity related regulations
Experience
At least 5 years of work experiences
Experience at law firms or in-house legal departments at global corporations
Specific knowledge/Competencies Strong ability to think strategically and take decisions in economic, complex and international business relations contexts
Strong contract drafting, negotiation and advisroy skills
High level of integrity, motivation, good interpersonal and communicative skills and team spirit
Strong capabilities communicating, interacting and managing the relevant internal and external stakeholders in problem solving process
Able to work independently and reliable under high pressure, possessing exceptional time management skills
Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with specific deadlines; able to judge and set priority on certain tasks
Fluent in business English (negotiation level)
Good computer skills (standard office software)
