Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru, India, was founded in 1996 as a captive unit to support Mercedes-Benz groups Research & Development and IT. We started with a focus on topics ranging from CAD, CAE and IT programming for all of the group's business units. Meanwhile, we have moved up in value to cater to advanced topics in vehicle engineering and IT technologies. We are now responsible for new methods in Design and CAE, software content for control units, head units and various critical engineering tools. Important components of digital dependencies on overall product development, is located now at MBRDI. The satellite office in Pune specializes in interior & exterior component design, wiring harness, IT for Sales. MBRDI also aims to partner closely with suppliers in India for its activities in product development and IT services. Job Title: Test Vehicle Fleet Management and Maintenance Lead As a Test Vehicle Management and Maintenance professional - Candidate will be responsible for
ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and management of test vehicles used in various
testing and development processes.
The role requires a combination of technical expertise, process, organization, and meticulous
attention to detail of test vehicles.
Responsibilities: Test Vehicle Procurement: Collaborate with Customs, purchasing, user departments and
support in initial documentation, paperwork.
Purchase Request: Support in creation of purchase request for procurement of test
vehicles/cars, custom duty payments, agent charges etc. and follow up for approvals and PO
issuance.
Car Registration and Insurance: Collaborate with procurement, RTO agent, insurance
company, user teams for Car Registration or obtaining trade certificate, negotiation with
Insurer obtaining insurance policy, renewal of insurance policy.
Test Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on test
vehicles.
Schedule and oversee routine service intervals, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake
checks, and other necessary maintenance procedures.
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of vehicle issues and implement corrective actions
promptly.
Order, organize, and manage spare parts inventory (like oil/fuel/any other consumable) to
support timely repairs and maintenance needs.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all test vehicles meet legal and safety standards,
including emissions, safety inspections, and registration requirements.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on
each vehicle.
Testing Support: Collaborate with testing teams to ensure vehicles are prepared and available
for testing schedules.
Support in the installation of testing equipment and instrumentation as required.
Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices in vehicle
operation and maintenance.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness
of vehicle maintenance processes.
Expectations:
Proven experience of 10+ years, in vehicle maintenance, preferably in a testing or automotive
environment.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
Understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards related to vehicle operation
and maintenance.
