The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people's lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia's species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department's care.
Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, this position is:
Responsible for planning, integrating, coordinating and implementing joint management works programs within the Murujuga National Park and the Dampier Archipelago nature reserves through liaison with the traditional owner groups, park council and circle of elders; to deliver outcomes in line with relevant Management Plans and Agreements Develops a strong working relationship with the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation, its members and employees and other key stakeholders. Contributes to the development of memoranda of understandings and partnership agreements with neighbours and other stakeholders. A written response addressing the four (4) requested criteria below (in no more than four (4) pages). A current resume. Selection Criteria 1. Experience in natural resource management, including land management and planning; with a preference for experience in cultural heritage management, management of conservation reserves, conservation, and recreational site management.
2. Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in effective liaison with external organisations; including other government agencies, community, and special interest groups. Ability and willingness to work with traditional owners to deliver native title aspirations through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements.
3. Experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and managing teams, working effectively as part of a team and independently; and showing a high level of self- motivation.
4. Experience in project development, control and expenditure of allocated work projects and experience in infrastructure development and maintenance.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
