As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank, Research Publishing global team, you are responsible for contributing on the content creation side of our engineering team, you will develop the systems and tools that our analysts use to create financial research pieces. We work with a great deal of autonomy, and you will be expected to take end to end ownership of deliveries and face off to the business. We value high-quality, well-engineered solutions and you will be joining a team of enthusiastic technologists with a passion for building software, the right way. Our team works across the full stack and thus needs good all-round technologists who don't define themselves by the language they prefer to code in.
Job responsibilities Deliver effective software solutions and troubleshoot problems for the Research organization Develop secure and high-quality production code and constructively review code written by others Work within an agile team and collaborate effectively with others Promote high quality engineering right through the SDLC and own solutions end to end Lead design evaluation and architecture proposals with internal and external stakeholders Work closely with business and technology leads to shape technology strategy Foster team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Follow a hybrid working model maximising in-office collaboration with a new state-of-the-art office in Glasgow Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceProficient in object-oriented programming using modern best practice A drive to build high quality, robust, maintainable software Motivation and enthusiasm to pick up new technologies Passionate about building an innovative and inclusive culture Ability to create and evaluate system design for distributed applications Ability to communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Java server-side experience with Spring Boot and Maven and experience with JavaScript/React and Web UI development Experience with Groovy or Python in web-server context Experience with relational databases, MySQL/T-SQL, AWS and Terraform Fluent in English
