Walker Sands is seeking a Global Communications Manager to join our team as a contractor in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a Global Communications Manager, you will serve as a dedicated resource and thought partner supporting one Walker Sands client – a large technology consultancy with offices in Buenos Aires – with onsite insight-gathering, real-time media opportunity management and PR strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a large, global brand that has been named one of the 100 Fastest Growing Brands in the World by Fortune. You will be supported by and partner closely with a broader team of Walker Sands PR pros, creatives and account managers based in the U.S. and U.K. to strategize and deliver a globally resonant program designed to accelerate awareness and growth for this big-name client.
This is a full-time role with the expectation that you will work in-person 2-3 days per week from the client's office in Buenos Aires.
About You:You are a competent leader and hands-on practitioner, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and interfacing with senior leaders at the client and Walker Sands.
You understand the technology industry, including key players and client-relevant trends. You consistently deliver quality work, have an eye for detail and keep cool while juggling several assignments at once.
You understand the value of attentive, empathetic client service, and have a history of nurturing strong, years-long working relationships with client partners and executive thought leaders. You view their success as your own, consistently strive to exceed expectations, and understand that the agency's reputation is as much tied to client experience as it is to the deliverables we produce.
Responsibilities:Coordinate with client's marketing team to source and direct newsworthy initiatives and executive insights while onsite at client's office,with an emphasis on news and stories that will resonate in the U.S. market or on a global scaleAnticipate client needs, asking the questions that will keep us consistently one step ahead and our teams on track to exceed client goals and objectivesBe a trusted counselor to client contacts, anticipating their needs and taking initiative to ensure they're addressedMaintaining open and direct communication with clients and the internal team, helping to enable flexibility while championing and defending established strategiesEnsure work is aligned with strategy and delivers outcomes that exceed client expectationsAttend relevant in-person internal/company meetings at the client's office to uncover insights for the global PR programProvide real-time communications guidance and counsel to client stakeholders based on established global PR strategyCoordinate timely media opportunities in real-time and draft commentary as needed (for example, meeting with client executives to source insights and commentary on breaking news)Assist with the creation and ongoing management of media, content, speaking and awards calendarsDraft compelling bylined articles, ghost-written for client executives, for publication in relevant media outletsDraft press releases on client's behalf for company announcementsDevelop speaking and awards submissions for client executives and initiativesReview PR materials prepared in the U.S to ensure cultural resonance on an as-needed basisTranslate content from Spanish to English (or vice versa) on an as-needed basisThe role outlined above assumes always-on communication and collaboration with the program's U.S.-based global PR leads at Walker Sands.
Qualifications:5-10 years of experience working in B2B technology PR.Past agency experience and experience working with technology companiesWritten and verbal proficiency in English and Spanish. Strong written communications in English are a mustWorking knowledge of the global and U.S. media landscapeFluency with Google Suite, Slack and other collaboration toolsDetails:This is a full-time role with the expectation that you will work in-person 2-3 days per week from the client's office in Buenos Aires.
