Throughout the project life cycle, the Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with sponsors, key stakeholders, vendors, outsourcers/offshore resources (where applicable) and project team members to ensure that the solution implemented fully meets the costs, time and quality expectations of the client.
To succeed in this position, he/she must be adaptable to change, an adept negotiator and facilitator, competent at relationship building and conflict resolution, possessing superior communication skills and acting decisively at all times.
The project manager is responsible for the overall success of the project and producing the project deliverables. Key responsibilities include:
Defining the project scope, objectives, key deliverables, risks, budget, resources
Developing, publishing and acquiring approvals on the project charter and securing the required approvals to proceedWorking with business analysts to ensure that business requirements are accurately documented and approved by the businessApplying agreed to change management strategy to deliver a structured approach to inform, involve and prepare people to adopt change positively and effectivelyDefining and monitoring work, time and costs estimates/forecastsDeveloping and managing the overall project plan including project dependenciesDeveloping, managing and monitoring risks and issues and proactively addressing and escalating these to ensure timely resolutionManaging sponsor and stakeholder expectations and regularly reporting progress to the sponsor, key stakeholders and Steering CommitteeThe Project Manager must be organized, disciplined and focused with the ability to effectively lead and manage a team of highly skilled technical and business people to produce the project deliverables.
Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business related disciplinePMP certified is preferredExperience At least 8 years hands-on project management experience preferably in the financial or banking industry or in a partnership based firmAbility and confidence to work closely with senior / C level executivesProven experience managing multiple medium to large sized complex projects (IT and business) from initiation through to implementation and hand-off to the operations and support organizationExperience and/or understanding of organizational change management practices and processes that address an organization's change readinessExtensive experience in waterfall project management with some proven experience using agile methodologyExperience in coaching and/or mentoring team members Education (if blank, degree and/or field of study not specified)
