We have a great opportunity for an e-Projects Specialist to join our MAF Technologies team to oversee technology focused projects, research and training/mentoring of other staff in order to assist the organisation in bringing help hope and healing to remote communities.
MAF Technologies, previously known in PNG as Christian Radio Missionary Fellowship (CRMF), has been serving the isolated communities of PNG since 1956. MAF Technologies exists to provide technical solutions that help advance the gospel and connect people to the vital services that are needed. They use services such as radio communication, computing, solar lighting and digital audio Bibles. Technology in PNG is advancing rapidly, and MAF Technologies is here to help.
Key Responsibilities
As an e-Projects Specialist with PNG Technologies, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of various software solutions and digital projects throughout PNG and further afield.
You will work closely with different departments to identify needs and solutions, ensure project timelines and budgets are met, and provide training and support to end-users.
You will report to the Strategy Manager for MAF Technologies and collaborate with other teams of specialists to deliver exceptional technology services.
Other Responsibilities
Working with or leading agile teams to design, develop and implement technology based projects to bring help, hope and healing to remote communities.
Being the technical lead for assigned projects.
Stay current on e-Technology industry topics and trends, and determine how to best use them to meet the needs of remote communities as well as for improving efficiency and productivity within the organisation.
Facilitating the researching and identifying appropriate resources that would be beneficial for training, reference or knowledge transfer in remote communities (eg via e-library, sd cards or other distribution methods).
Provide advice and support to other MAF locations worldwide with regard to areas of expertise.
Work closely with various project/program managers and departments to ensure project requirements are met.
Provide real-time troubleshooting of technical issues.
Develop detailed technical documentation for existing and upcoming systems, processes, and projects.
Participating in monitoring the Radio Network and being proficient in handling emergency calls.
Being involved/participating in the training and skill development of other staff and trainees within your areas of expertise.
Identifying and making use of on the job learning opportunities for other staff during the project lifecycle.
Mentoring and coaching other staff and trainees.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
Relevant training or education qualifications
Able to contribute constructively to discussion regarding policy and procedures of the organisation
Minimum two years practical work as technical project lead
Proficient in basic management and financial oversight of projects
Able to mentor, coach and train other staff and lead by example
Experience with database management and development
Able to live and work in a small community and contribute positively to the social, recreational and spiritual activities of the community
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills

Bible College Training
We are looking for a mature, even tempered team member who is able to develop and maintain good relationships with staff and clients. We expect that you will have organised responsible work habits, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure when needed. You must also be physically fit and able to travel to remote locations as required.
