Lenovo’s Global Business Analytics & Operations group is seeking a Data Scientist with experience in data acquisition and cleansing, data modeling, and building advanced analytics models. The initial focus will be on hardware and software product optimization, user behavior segmentation, customer support, and device quality analysis. Your role is to provide accurate, timely, relevant and quality analysis while driving data insights for a dynamic business.
As a Data Scientist, responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
• Interfacing with business functions to understand business needs and derive effective data analytics requirements
• Designing, prototyping, and executing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics models
• Working on a team that delivers end-to-end BI and analytics solutions that include data acquisition, data transformation and aggregation, data modeling, and provides data mining insight as actionable recommendations to business leaders
• Collaborating with other analytics teams within Lenovo to optimize analytics methodologies and brainstorm new analytics opportunities

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics or a related field
• 3+ years’ experience in Business Analytics/Statistical Analytics/Business Intelligence/Data Science implementing ETL pipelines, visualizations, statistical models, and advanced data analysis (e.g. regression, classification, cluster, etc.) in a big data environment
• Ability to understand new business domains and apply analytics solutions to meet business objectives
• Strong listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Expert in data modeling and data mining
• 1+ years experience with Hadoop ecosystem of tools, SQL, BI tools such as Qlik & Tableau, R, and Python
