Description
Roles and responsibilities · Identifying/assessing the needs of Data collection in the development cars for the purpose of Data for AI application development.
· Working with stakeholder teams (such as Data and AI teams) to gather the requirements needed for data collection.
· Assessment of the measurement systems that are needed to collect various types of data from the car – Camera systems, other electronic sensing devices and procurement of the needed systems.
· Designing measurement systems that collectively measure the needed data in required format.
· Assessment of data formats, data size and planning of needed IT ecosystem for data ingestion, data processing if needed.
· Planning, procurement, setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure for data collection.
· Instrumenting the development cars with the measurement systems.
· Planning, coordinating and executing the data collection campaigns.
· Participating in measurement campaigns globally to ensure the data collection is conducted as per plan.
· Responsible for data ingestion to the IT infrastructure.
· Liaising with other data collection teams for planning and coordination of data collection.
Expected Qualifications · Good knowledge of automotive sensors (e.g., temperature, pressure, analog, digital, camera etc.)
· Sound knowledge on instrumentation theory, principle and operation of measuring instruments.
· Good knowledge on circuit theory, microcontrollers, sensors, transducers, actuators and hands-on coding of microcontrollers, ADCs etc.
· Must-have HW design/circuit design experience for capturing and interfacing various sensor data in an automotive environment.
· Good understanding of the data size, data format, data acquisition systems.
· Knowledge of Data Engineering would be an added advantage.
· Good understanding of the IT infrastructure setup that are needed for local storage and transport of data.
· Good understanding of smart sensors, camera data acquisition methods.
· Good understanding of camera operation principles (frames per second, shutter speed, exposure etc.) and image sensors that are used in camera (IR, RGB, CMOS, CCD, Filters) etc. Knowledge of Image processing would be an added advantage.
Qualifications
Education and experience expectations · Bachelors/Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering
· 7-10 years of experience in the area of measurement, instrumentation preferably in automotive domain
· Must have exposure working in a matrix organization with global stakeholders.
· Exposure to working with teams with Agile/Scrum framework
· Strong written and oral communications skills, Clear communication skills (English); Knowledge of German language would be an advantage.
· Embodies and inculcates organization values and creates a learning culture to self and others in the team.
· Ability to work effectively within a team structure as well as being a strong individual contributor.
