We are looking for a professional with experience in Audit, Compliance, and/or Risk & Control in/for Financial Institutions. We also value the experience of employees from Front or Back office areas from financial institutions who have a good understanding of the risks of their business.
This is to join the Latin America Compliance Testing team in a regional position based in Buenos Aires. The Latin America Compliance Testing team if part of the Compliance Department within Morgan which ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern the product and services offered by all relevant businesses and locations in Latin America.
The LATAM Compliance Testing team is responsible for performing point-in-time reviews of the design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls which serve to mitigate Compliance risks as part of the Compliance´s Department evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the firm´s control environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Plan and execute reviews within assigned timeframes, including maintaining constant contact with key stakeholders, reporting results and ensuring corrective actions are implemented, where applicable.
Prepare clear and organized testing work papers to document and support work performed and conclusions reached.
Manage open issues arising from tests performed in order to ensure that associated corrective actions are addressed.
Organize and prepare management information relating to testing reviews completed, issues identified, outstanding action plans and progress against plan.
Work to enhance the visibility of the Testing team, establishing key business relationships and maintaining open dialogue on risks and issues.
Coordinate with other Compliance Team Members and assist in global reviews and ad-hoc projects as necessary
Undertake ad-hoc projects at the request of the Team Manager or LATAM Head of Practices
Qualifications
University Degree or equivalent;
5+ years of financial services experience in roles described above
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Portuguese is considered a plus.
Proficiency in the use of Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to interact effectively with others
Pro-active, motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and multitask successfully
