We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Consultant with broadcasting experience.
Our project is for the Broadcasting industry with an approach based on key pillars: Strategy, Operations, Technology and Financials.
We are looking for someone who is going to be responsible for the quality inspection process during Set Top Box software development to insure a high standard of product.
He/she is going to work with department leadership to implement process adjustments as issues arise, ensure that defects, future enhancements, and usability issues in assigned projects are tracked and summarized to present findings to product management. May also serve as a liaison with Development departments, and operation centers of the company when researching issues reported in the field.
Work closely with STB middleware developers, and STB manufacturers developers and providers, as well as Engineering, QA and Operations team.
Functions and Responsibilities - Facilitate the Collaboration with Engineers and Management to execute test objectives and determine a test strategy that appropriately addresses scope, goals, risk and progress.
- Communicate any quality-related issues to Department Manager in order to propose and lead implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
- Contribute in the creation, revision and execution test cases for Set Top Box (STB) software as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Document test methodology and test results.
- Responsible for meeting schedule delivery dates and quality requirements
- Ensure that all the bugs are documented and reported.
- Work closely with department management to track reported issues until resolution
- Provide support in the management and status of bugs and new features of STBs.
- Help establish test methods of QA, Change Requests, and verification of specifications.
- Ensure testing of digital systems and digital television on the STB uses of conditional access (CA) and data transmission to STB (such as interactive television ITV)
- Assist in troubleshooting STB reported problems in the field.
- May develop new processes, define processing or handling requirements, compile/evaluate test data. Makes recommendations and implements improvements.
- Reviews requirements for compatibility with processing methods. Develops/modifies processes, methods, and controls to meet quality standards.
- Conducts feasibility studies and recommends process improvements.
- May provide data mining, reporting, and support to technical network programs and initiatives for network data standards and integrity.
- Analyze, track, and publish methods and procedures. Analyze data to identify root cause of network problems. May provide process improvement training. Provide technical support on process and compliance.
- Responsible for analysis, design, development, and documentation of network quality/process improvements. Aligns improvement to network performance shortfalls. Provides consultation on reengineering techniques to improve network process performance and product quality. Develops network methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for results.
Experience required: - Experience in Telecommunication, Broadcasting industry and/or Consumer Electronics.
- Experience in the Set Top Box / Pay-TV industry or Digital Video Broadcasting
- Must have computer skills, including MS Windows, Microsoft Office , Linux
- Ability to create detailed reports, tracking all test data including tester performance.
- Knowledge of cables specifications and standards used in this industry
- Technical Testing Experience on Set-top-Boxes or equivalent Consumer Electronics products
- Understanding of digital television broadcast equipment and systems is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues—not only off-the-shelf products but also proprietary solutions (root cause analysis) is a plus
- Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques used to create and support an environment that meets the needs of the organization
- Experience in QA bug tracking software a plus.
