The Role
This position will play a fundamental role in the project, overseeing critical purchases, ensuring preparedness, control, and reporting for the area, and coordinating procurement, material quality, and logistics.
Reporting directly to the project's Mara Procurement Manager, the future objective is to ensure the efficient and effective execution of procurement activities, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting set deadlines for the continuous success of the project.
The Responsibilities Create and follow up on the Purchasing Plan for Project Mara.Carry out critical purchases for the project.Follow and enforce purchasing and contracting procedures.Train and lead the EPCM/PCM or others on commercial and compliance matters.Oversee purchasing management for the project that Glencore subcontracts to a third party.Supervise and coordinate quality management of materials and equipment for the project.Supervise and coordinate the logistics strategy for the project.Support business readiness with the operation.The Requirements University professionals in Administration, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, and other related fields.Post-university studies or specialization in Procurement and Acquisitions.5 years of experience in Purchasing and Contracts in general, with a minimum of 2 years in projects.Proven experience in greenfield and brownfield mining projects throughout the project lifecycle, from detailed engineering to commissioning, establishing project baselines, and implementing update and forecast work cycles.Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers, especially local ones (Catamarca and surrounding areas).Ability for monitoring and surveillance.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization.Ability to summarize large amounts of data to convey specific messages to different stakeholders.Strong leadership and relationship-building skills both internally and externally.Semi-autonomous, proactive, highly motivated, and resilient attitude.Commercial, facilitation, analytical, leadership/management, and negotiation skills.Proven commercial experience.Advanced writing and oral skills in both Spanish and English.
