They will tackle complex features of diverse scope with minimal oversight, while working collaboratively with a team of engineers. Can drive clarity and engage in creative problem solving even with limited information. An engineer in this role influences and mentors more junior members of the team via design and code reviews while maintaining an environment that is inclusive and supportive of engineering culture. Must possess the ability to adapt communication style to differing audiences when working with colleagues from engineering and non-engineering disciplines. An engineer in this role thinks constantly about the long-term health of their code, documentation, and infrastructure while also ensuring a high level of software quality within the team.
Areas of Responsibility Designing and developing software applications that meets the needs of the organization and clients.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.Identify opportunities to improve the processes and technologies of the work team.Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to analyse and estimate projects.- Look for new opportunities that allow to provide innovative software solutions to the business.Job Requirements / Skills Essential/Required Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Systems, Engineering or related careers.
Years of experience: Minimum 5 years occupying similar roles.
Fluent in English at an intermediate/advanced level
Expertise in complex problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
Experience building web applications in MERN (Mongo, Express, React and Nodejs), MEAN (Mongo, Express, Angular and Nodejs) or Java Spring Boot
Expertise in implementing scalable, distributed and highly available systems on AWS using ECS, EKS, EC2 and Serverless technology (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS
Expertise building web applications in Java Spring Boot
Experience with JPA/Hibernate
Experience building event driven architecture
Experience working and delivering in an Agile Scrum environment
Broad knowledge and experience in proficient understanding of relational databases (Ie., Oracle / SQL Server / MySQL / NoSQL)
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Energetic, shows passion and is vested to the project
Desirable/Preferred Broad knowledge and experience in Messaging Frameworks (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, SNS, SQS, Kafka, etc)
General knowledge of or previous work experience and / or participation in projects related to the media industry
Experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience using Docker, Kubernetes or rkt
Experience in DevOps (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Travis for CI/CD)
