This is why we developed theOrb.The Orb is an advanced biometric imaging device, custom-designed for Worldcoin's launch. Orbs are deployed to a global network of operators, who use the device to onboard new Worldcoin users. During this onboarding, the Orb generates an encoding of each user's iris and submits it to Worldcoin's backend. These systems are combined in a sleek industrial design with a simple, minimalist user interface.About the Team:The Cloud team strives to build secure, low-latency systems that operate on a billion-plus user scale, incorporating data science, AI, crypto, fraud-prevention and many other components to power everything from Orbs to user wallets.About the Opportunity:As a senior leader on the team you'll be leading the design and building systems that run inside of AWS VPCs. In this role, you will:Take ownership of larger pieces of work and lead them!Create application and infrastructure components mainly in golang.You will work with Terraform-provisioned AWS infrastructure and with services like S3, EKS, EC2, Route53, etc.Own the full lifecycle of feature development from design through testing and release.Participate in on-call rotation to provide application support, incident management and troubleshooting.About You:Experience in golang or possibly rust.Familiar with microservice architectures—you have seen them at scale.Can knowledgeably discuss performance, security, and user interactions in complex software systems.Built and operated a large scale distributed system service.Expertise in AWS.Expertise in Kubernetes.Experience with MongoDB is nice to have.By submitting your application, you consent to the processing and internal sharing of your CV within the company, in compliance with the GDPR.Pay transparency statement (for CA and NY based roles):The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $247,000- $290,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package.
