Job Role Summary 13;
The Storage Engineering Analyst requires an individual to be able to assess and understand ExxonMobil data storage and backup needs with 3 to 5 years' experience, select the appropriate products and develop the appropriate processes to meet those needs, and certify the solutions for deployment. These activities include:
* Storage/Backup technology evolutions including staying abreast of industry developments and actively participating in discussions with storage/backup vendors
* Develop integrated processes and support tools for the products
* Participate in storage/backup management infrastructure certification activities
* Develop detailed deployment & operational documentation for the products and processes
* Develop and steward security risk assessments for storage/backup products
* Perform capacity and growth planning/forecasting as part of design
* Attend SWAT or incident resolution calls as Level 3 resource
Additionally, some operational support activities are required including backups & storage arrays, monitoring tools, and archive system break/fix support. Individual will need the ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong technical knowledge.
* Dev and improve monitoring/alerting and self-healing solution
* Dev Automation for new technology roll outs as well as existing process/technology and platform supported

Technical Skills:
* Infrastructure support experience ( Windows Server: all OS version from W2003, UNIX: HP-UX, Linux-Red hat, storage, backup, network)
* Familiar with and experienced in supporting FibreChannel & FibreChannel over Ethernet (FCoE). connectivity/protocols.
* Archival technology, like PARS4 Archival System
* Backup technologies, preference knowledge about CommVault
* Storage arrays (SAN/NAS) ( DellEMC Isilon, DellEMC VMAX, NetApp E-Series, NetApp FAS Series, CDOT)
* Hypervisor (VMware/Hyper-V) knowledge
* PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet scripting knowledge and infrastructure automation experience
* SQL queries & Tableau and/or any other reporting tools
Soft Skills:

* Interpersonal and Negotiation skills - ability to effectively interact with staff, peers, and management

* Strong technical written and communication skills; speak and write English fluently

* Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
* Experience in Agile practices is a plus
