The ProteusPlus installation project in Buenos Aires will be the 1st Proton Therapy Center in South America and will be performed in partnership with INVAP, on Behalf of Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica (CNEA) and the National Oncology Institute Angel H. Roffo.
The Proton Therapy Center will be part of the Instituto de Oncología "Ángel H. Roffo" complex located in the Villa Del Parque area.
It will be equipped with the latest ProteusPlus system with two treatments rooms and one research area.
Its installation will start in October 2023 and should be delivered within 18 months after which the site transitions to customer service mode.
We offer an open-ended contract and expect the selected candidate to start his training in Belgium and Worldwide around June 2023.
As IT Administrator & Systems Engineer, you are responsible for installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy site, with a specific focus on administration of the IT infrastructure, software testing, debugging, configuration and upgrades.

Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the deployment of the software and electronics/control systems.Performing the IT infrastructure and the software calibration following proceduresTesting and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timingCritically analyzing data to diagnose potential technical problemsCollaborating intensively during the installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of the equipmentEnsuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services
During the Customer Service phase
Maintaining and troubleshooting the equipmentOperating the system and providing technical support to the medical staff during patient treatment and clinical operationsEnsuring the client requirements are met in terms of technical performance, timing and safetyTraining customers to use properly and safely the equipment and systems and working in close collaboration with him on the equipment maintenance and operations (shared services)Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment (shift work)What we valueA Bachelor or Master degree in engineering (preferably in Computer Sciences or Electronics) or an equivalent experienceA sound technical experience in electronics/control system troubleshootingTechnical understanding of PLCsA relevant technical experience in electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair and operations of large systemsAn experience with Subversion software repositories and configuration management Experience in administration of Linux/WindowsKnowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.)A basic knowledge of SQLExperience with virtualization system such as VMare and/or ProxmoXStrong network skills such as handling routing, switching and firewall managementStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAnd you also are:Customer-orientedAble to follow rules & regulations and you are able to deliver on strict deadlinesAnalytical, good troubleshooting skills, able to identify root cause of issuesWilling to share your knowledge in your area of expertiseA team player with strong interpersonal skillsWilling to travel extensively during the training period (+/- 4 months)A flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, night work and weekendsStrong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and EnglishLife at IBA

Proton Therapy aims to destroy cancer cells by delivering proton beams to a target tumor. Protons release their energy within the tumor target area while limiting the radiation to the surrounding healthy tissues.
