GENERAL SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, responsible for the more complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. Position may provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountant positions. May be assigned to specific areas such as general ledger accounting, financial reporting, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
-Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (, balance sheets, income statements, etc.) and performs complex financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial position according to generally accepted accounting procedures. Conducts trend or ratio analysis and presents information as requested.
-Performs month-end general accounting close for supported entities. Prepares complex journal entries. Includes review of account reconciliation's for all appropriate balance sheet accounts.
-Reconciles and documents all accounts on general ledgers and accounting procedures. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Interprets company policy to ensure that all accounts are accurately reconciled.
-Leads fixed asset accounting including asset acquisitions, disposal and transfers. Collects and analyzes semi-annual inventory data.
-May be responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting consolidated financial information. Assists with census reporting, SEC filings, annual report preparation, legal entity reporting.
-Assists in the development of corporate financial accounting policies and procedures. Recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes. Implements and designs financial reports, accounting processes and systems as directed.
Leads special projects as appropriate ( general ledger updates, changes in accounting procedures/systems).
SKILLS REQUIRED

-Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
-CPA p years relevant experience
-Significant knowledge of accounting principles, practices, methods and techniques as well as federal accounting regulations including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
-Knowledge of SEC/IRS regulations and FASB guidelines.
-Ability to analyze business conditions.
-Ability to define problems, research/collect and analyze data.
-Strong written/ oral communication and interpersonal skills.
PC proficiency including utilizing Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as experience using an ERP system and accounting related software.
